    Prof.Jian-Zhong Jiang

    In July, 1984 I received Bachelor degree at Zhejiang Normal University, in November, 1986 I received Master Degree at Department of Material Physics, Beijing University of Science and Technology and Ph.D. Degree at Werkstoffwissenschaften, University of Saarland, in July, 1991. From July, 1991 to December, 1992, I worked as a Postdoc at Werkstoffwissenschaften, University of Saarland and as a Research Fellow at Department of Physics, University of Liverpool from January, 1993 to October, 1994. I got Assistant Professor Position at Department of Physics, Technical University of Denmark from October, 1994 to September, 1996. From October, 1996 to October 2003, I have been appointed as Associate Professor at Department of Physics, Technical University of Denmark. Since January, 2004I have been appointed as Chair Professor at School of Materials Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, P.R. China 



    Awards: 

    1.The “100 Talent Scientist” programme sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1996. 

    2. The “Young Scientist” award from International Symposium on Metastable, Mechanically Alloyed and Nanocrystalline Materials (ISMANAM), 30 August-3 September, 1999, Dresden, Germany. 

    3. The “Outstanding Young Scholar” award from the Danish Technical Research Council in 1999. 

    4. The “Outstanding Young Scholar” award from the National Natural Science Foundation of China in 2004. 

    5. Chang-Jiang Scholar from the Ministry of Education of China in 2006

    6. The “1000 Talent Scientist” programme sponsored by the Zhejiang Province in 2009.

    7. First prize for Science and Technology of High Education from the Ministry of Education of China in 2009

    Publications: 

    About 350 papers published in the international recognised journals (including Science, NatureCommun, Nanolett, PNAS, PRL, JACS, AdvFuncMater, Scientific Reports, Acta Mater, APL, PRB), H=51 and 26 granted patents.


    My research fields: 

    New-structured Materials (bulk metallic glasses and metallic liquids) from synthesis, characterisation, to their applications; phase transformations; applications of Synchrotron-radiation based techniques and simulations.
