On the night of June, 5^th, 2019, “Methods and skills in making covers and diagrams of scientific articles” the public course was held by School of Materials Science and Engineering at Shaoyifu Science Building. This course was designed for improving students'ability in making scientific diagrams to express their academic achievements. Zongxiang Zhang (Minister of Research Work of the Party Committee, Zhejiang University), Shiliang Zhang(Deputy Secretary of the party committee, School of Materials), Hang Zhu(Communist Youth League Secretary, School of Materials), Jiabing Rong(Chair of Doctoral Student Union), Lu Tong(Deputy Chair of Doctoral Student Union), Yiwen Jiang(Chair of Graduate Student Union, Departmetn of Chemistry), Nan Hu(Deputy Chair of Graduate Student Union, Department of Energy Engineering) and other guests attended this course.

Mr. Rongxiang Zhang, the Minister of Research Work of the Party Committee, delivered a speech for this event. He traced the founding history of the DMB (Dengpan) Festival of Zhejiang University, and revealed to students the “Doctor Leading Master and Bachelor” spirit under the DMB. He expressed best wishes for the successful holding of this public course.

Yu Zhong, winner of CHU KOCHEN Scholarship, shared his experience in founding his Wechat public platform “Research and find the truth”, and Hangzhou Sifeimi Technology Co., Ltd. He encouraged students to study skills of making scientific diagrams and communicate with other researchers, which helps a lot in their research career.

Dr. Haodong Li, from School of Polymer, Fudan University, founder of Wechat public platform “scientific 3D diagrams painting” and Hangzhou Sifeimi Technology Co., Ltd, taught students the usage of C4D, PS and other software to produce beautiful scientific diagrams in details. In question time, several audience on the scene asked questions on diagrams producing, and got enthusiastic response from Dr. Li.
