New M.Sc. Position #1
A new NSERC-funded M.Sc. position is immediately available to study hydrogen production by supercritical water gasification of woody biomass . This research will involve development of a supercritical water gasification process for production of high-purity hydrogen from biomass, novels catalysts for the process as well as kinetics of the process. Analytical techniques will likely include GC, GC-MS, XRD, XPS, TGA, ICP, IR, HPLC, etc.
Students with a strong background in biotechnology, chemical reaction engineering or catalyst & catalysis are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate can expect a funding level of $16,500/year for a maximum of 2 years.
- New M.Sc. Position #2
A new Imperial Oil Ltd-funded M.Sc. position is immediately available to investigate upgrading of oilsand bitumen in supercritical fluids. This research will involve investigation of bitumen upgrading in SC fluids and development of catalysts for the process. Analytical techniques will likely include SARA analysis, GC, GC-MS, XRD, XPS, IR, ICP, etc.
Students with a strong background in fuel processing technologies, chemical reaction engineering or catalyst & catalysis are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate can expect a funding level of $16,500/year for a maximum of 2 years.
