Prof. Choi 简介
Associate Chair – Undergraduate Studies
Professor
Department of Chemical & Materials Engineering
University of Alberta
Edmonton, AB
Professor Choi has accumulated about 20 years of experience in molecular simulation of polymers. He has published 3 book chapters and over 90 referred articles in prestige international journals and conference proceedings. He has also organized and chaired the polymer sessions of 52nd, 55th and 57th CSChE Conferences as well as the “molecular Modelling of Polymers” session of the 87th CSC Conference. Most recently, he was the division representative of the Macromolecular Science and Engineering Division of the 91st CSC Conference responsible for the organization of all polymer sessions. He has been the reviewer for 20 some international polymer and physical science journals such as:《Macromolecules》, 《Polymer》, 《Langmuir》,《Macromolecular Theory and Simulations》, 《Journal of Polymer Science: Polymer Physics》, 《Journal of Applied Polymer Science》, 《Journal of Polymer Research》, 《Journal of Molecular Structure》, 《Journal of Chromatography A》, 《Fluid Phase Equilibria》, 《Journal of Physical Chemistry》, 《Canadian Journal of Chemistry》, 《Chemcial Engineering Science》, 《Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering》, 《Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data》, and 《Journal of Materials Processing Technology》. He also serves as a reviewer for various Canadian and American funding agencies. He is currently the chair of the Edmonton section of the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering and has been recently appointed as a board of director of the Chemical Institute of Canada. He is a registered professional engineer in the province of Alberta. He received an international IUPAC Travel Award in 2002 and a National Young Innovator Award from Petro Canada Inc. in 2002 and 2001, respectively, recognizing his work on molecular simulation of polymers. In the 2003/2004 academic year, he spent a one year sabbatical in Prof. Wayne L. Mattice’s lab of the Maurice Morton Institute of Polymer Science at the University of Akron studying crystallization behavior of polypropylene blends using the rotational isomeric state theory.
