报告题目：Integration of Biology and Materials Science to Develop BioNanotechnology and Nanomedicine: The Case of Genetically Modifiable BioNanofibers
Abstract：Nature is rich in bionanostructures that can be used to develop nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine. Three of natural bionanofibers related to bacteria have been studied in my lab, including phage, which is a nanofiber-like virus specifically infecting bacteria, as well as flagella and pili, which are protein nanotubes protruding from the exterior surface of the bacteria and responsible for cell swimming and adhesion. All of these bionanostructures can be genetically engineered to display foreign peptides site-specifically on the surface, enabling us to tune their surface chemistries to control their self-assembly behavior, recognition against cells and tissues, and interaction with biomaterials. This talk will highlight our recent work in this area and focus on the use of these bionanostructures for nano/bio-materials synthesis/assembly, cancer and stem cell targeting, tumor tissue homing, cancer imaging and treatment, stem cell-based therapy, drug/gene delivery, and tissue regeneration. Our work shows that genetically modifiable bionanostructures are unique players in developing novel nano-/bio-materials and nanomedicines.
毛传斌, 1992年获东北大学学士学位，1997年获该校博士学位，为首届全国百篇优秀博士学位论文的获得者，指导教师为周廉院士。1997至1999期间，于清华大学从事博士后研究，指导教师为李恒德院士，并先后担任讲师和副教授，期间被评为清华大学优秀博士后。2010年因杰出研究提前获得美国俄克拉荷马大学的终身副教授职位，评为Presidential Professor。2011年提前升为终身正教授。现在同时为美国伯克利国家重点实验室(Lawrence Berkeley National Lab)的客座研究员和俄克拉荷马大学癌症中心的成员。获得2006年美国俄克拉荷马州科技创新研究中心唯一的New Scientist Award等奖励。主要从事纳米材料和生物材料，噬菌体展示技术，生物分子材料，细胞-材料相互作用，细胞工程，组织工程，生物纳米技术和纳米医学。在Science (2篇)，Adv. Mater.(3篇), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. ( 5篇)，Nano Lett. (1篇), ACS Nano (2篇)，J. Am. Chem. Soc. (1篇)，Adv. Funct. Mater.(3篇)，Small (3篇)等学术期刊共发表SCI收录论文120篇。是多个国际著名期刊（包括Science, Nature, Advanced Materials, Angewandt Chemie International Edition, JACS）的审稿人。
