The general area of research of Prof. Wei Cai is mechanical behavior of materials. Specifically, he is interested in the correlation between structure and the mechanical properties of materials. Before joining the Stanford University in 2004, Dr. Zhang was a postdoc at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He received B.E. degree in Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Optoelectronic Engineeringand PhD degree in Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
