Te-Wei Chiu is a professor of Department of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering, Taipei University of Technology. He received a B.S. in Chemistry in 1995 from Cheng-Kong University, a M.S. in Chemistry in 1997 from Chong-Chen University, at this period he did his research on synthesis of organometallics in Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica. After two years military service in air force, He got scholarship from Japanese government and be a doctoral course student in Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. He obtained Ph. D in 2003. After holding a post-doctoral position at Tsukuba Research Center for Interdisciplinary Material Science (Shirakawa Center), University of Tsukuba, he joined National Institute of Advanced Industrial and Science Technology (AIST), Nanoelectronics Research Institute, from 2005 to 2008. He engaged Department of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering in Taipei University of Technology as Assistant Professor. He became Associate Professor in 2012. He was promoted to Professor in 2017. His areas of research interest include application of nanomaterials and functional oxide for energy technology such as synthesis of nanoparticles(0D), fiber(1D), thin films(2D), porous(3D), and tubular in shape.
